Perspectives on Hoarding:  Community

Response to Those Struggling with

Finding/Keeping and/or Clutter

May 17, 2015 Conference

Perspectives on Hoarding: A Community Response to those Struggling with Finding/Keeping and/or Clutter, this full-day conference at Stockton University on May 17, 2015 focused on what happens when people’s possessions take over their lives. Participants examined hoarding from four perspectives: the clinician, a housing official, a person with lived experience, and a family member. Breakout sessions for clinicians and sub-code officials identified strategies, resources, and solutions for clutter and hoarding disorder. Individuals and family members of people overwhelmed by too many things looked at best practices to reduce collecting, clean, sort, and organize processions.
