A best practice to address hoarding behaviors includes Task Forces

Counties, cities and communities have launched task forces that include multi-agency, multi-disciplinary teams to address the impact of hoarding disorder behaviors through: coordination of care, case consultation and intervention awareness, education, preventative measures.

The Atlantic County Hoarding Task Force since 2016

  • The Mental Health Association in Atlantic County has launched a community-wide/interagency group to build a sustainable community model for evidenced-based hoarding intervention.
  • The task force is working to address an absence of centralized communication and education around hoarding disorder.
  • The Atlantic County Hoarding Task Force's mission is to create a system that provides interventions that are both client-centered and cost effective.
