MHAAC
Parent Education

Whoever said being a parent was easy? The needs of children today have changed drastically from those of years ago. But what parent is ever ready to face those challenges?   Since 1992, MHAAC has become a leader in parenting education - conducting over 100 parent education programs to more than 1,200 families in Atlantic and Cape May Counties.

As advocates for the prevention of youth violence and the promotion of wellness and family preservation, MHAAC utilizes the Active Parenting Programs, nationally published video-based programs that help parents learn the keys to communication cooperation, respect, self-esteem, discipline, and responsibility.  Parents learn how to talk to kids about everyday family matters and values, as well as more serious issues such as drugs, sexuality, and violence.  Parents address the challenges they face raising children, and gain the support they need to help strengthen those personal relationships.  MHAAC offers three parent education programs that range from the toddler years to the turbulent teenage years.
